CONCENTRATION
My central idea is the evolution of flowers on subjects. I used organic textures and natural lighting. My message is me showing the gentle side of mankind versus natural mother-nature which is constantly destructed by society. My work is conceptual portrait photography with flowers added as the main emphasis and "mask" which hides the subject’s identity. I used natural lighting and I really wanted to do harsh contrast and lighting to emphasis the natural beauty.
My concentration is portraits incorporating the evolution of flowers as the main focus of expression &hidden identity. I consider my work as conceptual portraits because I don’t want to emphasis the identity of the subjects. I want to use their features as portray the beauty the flowers tend to express for themselves. My voice is showing different and unique approaches in every picture &wanted it to be simplistic in every photograph. In C1, C5, and C9 I wanted to show masculinity of the man's identity and cover it with the delicate, soft flowers. With the harsh contrast throughout the series of three photos, I wanted to show the strength and development of the flowers beauty involved with the natural form of the male body. In C2, C6, and C10, I displayed more of the natural beauty of the female, & frame her natural bone structure. I wanted to show throughout this series the light touch against earths ground & natural elements. In C3, C7, C11 & also C4, C8, and C12 I went with similar approaches. I wanted the texture of the skin to interact with the Earth’s natural texture. I also wanted to play with shadows with natural lighting & organic values and shapes. All of my subjects really melt into the Earth’s atmosphere. The subjects are gentle as the flower evolves up the human body, creating a cohesive embodiment.
